Biography

Gayathri is a graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Computer Engineering at UMass Lowell, Massachusetts. Her research focuses on cutting-edge hand-tracking technologies, particularly in Augmented Reality (AR) applications, utilizing tools like Unity and the Magic Leap 2 device. Gayathri explores innovative solutions in gesture recognition and physiotherapy tracking, leveraging advanced computer vision and machine learning techniques.

In her current projects, she is conducting research on AR and Digital Twin technologies, with a strong emphasis on hand tracking and transformation in AR environments. She employs Unity in C# and MediaPipe in Python for real-time hand pose estimation, developing methods to capture and analyze data related to hand posture, key poses, and 28 key points. This detailed analysis facilitates accurate representation of hand movements by calculating the angles and distances between finger bones.

With over three years of experience as a Software Developer, Gayathri specializes in front-end development using React.js and has worked extensively on B2C e-commerce projects, developing web applications for clients during her tenure at Infosys and Skava Systems.
