Tiana Robinson

Research Interests

My research interests revolves around maintaining the integrity and safety of civil infrastructures. Considering this, I’ve always wondered about the applications of monitoring structures to ensure their longevity and the safety of individuals that use them. That said, I joined the Structural Engineering Research Group (SERG) under Professor Tzuyang Yu at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

SERG’s research interests aligned with my own since the group focuses on the deterioration and aging of civil infrastructure systems, including the investigation and inspection of material and structural deterioration mechanisms. Since then, I’ve become a research assistant within the group to assist graduate students with their projects from measuring concrete thickness in field using Ultrasonic Testing to investigating the effect of mass distribution on damping of building model using a shake table and a Laser Doppler Vibrometer for Structural Health Monitoring for Structural Health Monitoring.
